Departing from the Steve Miller Band after a two-album stint, Boz Scaggs found himself on his own but not without support. Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner, his friend, helped him sign with Atlantic Records and the label had him set up shop in Muscle Shoals, recording his debut album with that legendary set of studio musicians, known for their down-and-dirty backing work for Aretha Franklin.

"Boz Scaggs" is another candidate for the greatest overlooked, unjustly forgotten album of the classic rock era. It wasn't overlooked in its own day. Back when FM radio was "free form" and could play 10 minute-long cuts, the amazing "Loan Me a Dime," a delicately soulful blues wail that evolves into a monstrous Allman guitar workout, was a staple, especially at reidrexlicilimalindisctextdersticon.coinfos:

Great album. I am a long time Boz Scaggs fan and this CD, remastered with a couple bonus tracks is as good as I have ever heard in my previous versions, album, cassette, and CD. Sound quality is great and no surprises. This stereo (right-left-sub) only CD really delivers. Glad I have it/5(39).
  8. Vitilar says:
May 04,  · Boz Scaggs has continued to grow as an artist since the released of his sole Atlantic album more than 45 years ago; his latest album, A Fool to Care, arrived just last month with one new composition surrounded by soul and R&B covers from varied sources like The Band and The Spinners.
